WHAT TO EXPECT

We can discuss the specifics and talk about your vision for your session. This will allow me to get to know you and give me a better idea of what you are looking for. Technically, the process is simple, but your lifestyle photos are going to last a lifetime, so it is only logical to take time to consider what you might want from your session.

Our session will be around an hour at your selected location and time. Upon arrival we will go over our schedule, address any last minute questions and then start the shoot. We will direct you through the session using fun prompts and activities.

AFTER THE SESSION

We will begin the photo editing process, including setting up your online gallery. This process generally takes two to three weeks. Once your gallery is complete, I will contact you via email with your link. At this time you can chose make purchases within your gallery store.

styling tips

COORDINATE

They days of matchy-match family photos are finally over - yeah! Instead, choose a coordinating palette of 3-4 color and dress your family in shades of that palette. Most families start with the mother's outfit and build the family's ensemble around that.

COLOR POPS

Keep things mainly neutral with pops of color. For example, choose mainly khaki, grays, browns, creams or ivories - with shots of rust or green or navy. Steer clear of brights or neons as they do not photography well and often cast unflattering colors on various skin tones.

TEXTURE VS. PATTERN

Patterns are beautiful, we all love patterns, but it can be difficult to coordinate a variety of patterns. Instead, choose a single pattern and mix in various textures. Knits, leathers and lace are just a few examples of subtle pattern within texture.

ACCESSORIES

Adding accessories is an easy way to show off individual personality within a coordinated set of outfits. Choose your own scarves, hats, belts, wraps, ties and/or jewelry.

PROP FUN

Props are also fun and can be a great way to show off your families unique personality! Think about a personalized sign, balloons or your favorite hobby related items. We love a good activity to show off your family’s personality. For example, bring a your favorite family picnic setup.

BE COMFY

It is important to consider colors and textures when choosing what to wear for a family session, but the most important tip I can offer is to be sure that everyone is comfortable. You and your family are going to feel the most at ease if you are comfortable in your clothing. Choose to be stylish and practical at the same time!
